Save this Date! On Saturday, April 19, 2008, The Office of Family Life is sponsoring a, Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Conference, “Straight Talk”, for youth and parents. The conference will be held at the Catholic Pastoral Center, 7501 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City. Registration will begin at 8:30 am and the program will run from 9:00 am – 3:45 pm. Archbishop Eusebius Beltran will welcome our youth, parents and sponsors and begin the conference with a prayer and short message. The speaker will be, Ben Atherton-Zeman, a nationally known and popular actor, comedian, feminist and husband will present a one-man play: “Voices of Men”, to educate youth and parents about the epidemic of violence in dating go to: www.voicesofmen.org, to view clips of Ben’s work. Break out sessions will include technology safety and the consequences of negative use; Cutting and Suicide: How to Recognize, Question and Prevent; and many more subjects that are facing our teens and young adults. While we do realize that some youths may be going to prom on this date, the age for the conference is 13 and up, leaving ample room for other youths to take advantage of the conference.
